I GOT A JOB

Hello all. So I start a blog while I was out of work looking for a job.  I found one just a couple weeks ago.  Now it seams I don't have time to blog.  So what I am going to try to do is blog at least once a week.  I am going to try to do it on the weekends when I am off.

Nov 29

We are now home from AZ and trying to get everything back to normal. I have only read Spell Bound and The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong over the last week days. I was trying to wait on both of these books until the next books were closer to coming out.  However I could not wait any longer.

Spell Bound was great!  I love this series and wish it was not coming to an end, but all good things must come to an end.  I had a very hard time putting it down.  I also don't want to spoil anything for anyone so I will keep this short.  I love how Savannah is growing up.  I hope that Savannah and Adam end up together.  I can't wait for the next book which is the last book in the series :-( .

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong is the first book in the Darkness Rising series.  I can't wait for the next book The Calling to come out.  (It is scheduled to come out in April 2012 right now).  This series goes with the Darkest Powers series.  I really enjoyed getting to know Maya, Daniel, Rafe and the others in this book. I am not one that likes big cliff hangers at the end but this one works.  I am on the edge of my seat for The Calling.  This is all I am going to say because I want you to read it. :-)

Nov 24

So I have traveled to AZ and just got dinner on.  I now have a few minuets to write about what I have read.  I have read The Immortal Highlander and Spell of a Highlander By Karen Marie Moning.  I also read Drink Deep by Chloe Neill I won this book from http://escapeinabook.blogspot.com.
This is the second time I have read The Immortal Highlander and Spell of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning.  They are both great books.  The Immortal Highlander is about Adam from the other books in the series and what happens to him for meddling in humans life's so many times.  Gabrielle is the one that can see and hear Adam.  She is his only hope to save the world and get him back to his life.  The Spell of the Highlander another book about the MacKeltar.  This MacKeltar is Cian is stuck in a mirror.  The mirror ends up in the hands of Jessica.  Because of the fact that the mirror is in her hands he life is in danger and needs Cian's help to stay alive, while he needs he help to get out of the mirror.  If they and make it to Scotland and to Halloween all will be well.

Drink Deep by Chloe Neill is the 5th book in the Chicagoland Vampires series.  I won this book from http://escapeinabook.blogspot.com. I love this series.  Merit has more do deal with in this book.  She is trying to get through loosing Ethan, and Chicago needs saving.  She also needs to help save her house from being taken over by other vampires.  After reading this book I really can't wait for the next book!

Time to go back to cooking and the family!  Happy Thanksgiving!  Hope you all have a great day!

Nov 16

Trying to get ready for Thanksgiving and still finding time to read.  We are going to take the boys to see my parents in AZ for Thanksgiving.  So I have been doing much to make sure we have everything we need for it. I have read To Tame a Highland Warrior, The Highlander's Touch, Kiss of the Highlander, The Dark Highlander by Karen Marie Moning, and Howling at the Moon by Karen MacInerney in the time I did find.

To Tame a Highland Warrior by Karen Marie Moning was a great book.  I enjoyed the internal battle that Grimm goes through in this book to get the happiness he deserves. As Jillian's father is going to force her to marry she is hoping that Grimm will be the one. As they learn to love each other Grimm must come to terms of his past and is family. Only through love can he heal.

The Highlander's Touch by Karen Marie Moning is another great book by her.  Lisa from present time is sent back 700 years in time to the laird of Castle Brodie.  He had cursed an object and the person and object would appear to him.  He also agreed to kill the man than came to him with the object.  However once he meets Lisa he can't come to kill her right away.  He then sends lots of time getting to know her and trying to decide what to do with her.  She just wants to go home and help her dying mother.  You are just going to have to read this one if you want to find out if she gets to go home or if she dies.

Kiss of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning. This time we find Gwen from the present sent back in time.  However this time she is sent by Drustan to save is family line.  He did not tell her everything she needed to know to go back and save is family.  He also didn't tell her he was falling for her.  She now has to convince him that what she says is true and let him know she loves him.  The sad thing is once she fixes the past she is no longer in the past because the events that sent her to the past will never happen.  Does she get her happy ever after?

The Dark Highlander by Karen Marie Moning.  This time we find Daegus in present day trying to find out what happened to him and how to fix it.  While doing his research he runs in to beautiful Chloe.  She wants nothing to do with him at first but agrees to help him because she is a history lover.  The more they learn the more the need to move fast.  Time is running out.

Howling at the Moon by Karen MacInerney.  I was not too sure at the start of this book if it would be one I would like, but the more I read the more I wanted to know what was going to happen to Sophie.  There is a lot that is going on in this book.  Sophie’s mom is being charged for murder; someone knows she is a werewolf hiding it and is threating to kill her.  Sophie has never met another werewolf until one shows up in town and helps turn her life upside down.  I can’t wait to read the next book.

I hope to have more time to read and post but it maybe a few more days before I write any more.  I am starting to read Drink Deep by Chloe Neill. I am also going to finish the Highland series by Karen Marie Moning.

Nov 7

What a week.  Was trying to get the house cleaned up for friends coming over boy was that hard.  I also cleaned that carpets. That was the hard part. :)  I did fit sometime in for reading.  I read Wrangled and Tangled by Lorelei James and Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning.

Wrangled and Tangled I loved!  I love getting to read more on charters that you have already met in another book.  This is the third book in A Blacktop Cowboys series. This book went between Abe and Janie relationship  and Renner and Tierney relationship.  I can't even tell you all the reasons I loved this book, you just need to read it. This book just came out so I don't want to give anything away.

Beyond the Highland Mist I have read before and enjoyed so much I wanted to read it again. It did not disappoint the second time around.  I was still so happy with "Hawk" and Adrienne's relationship.  First Adrienne ends up going back in time to the 16th century. (I am not sure how well I would handle that.) Once she believes she is not dreaming she tries to make a life in Scotland in the 16th century.  However before she believes that she time traveled she has to get everyone to believe she is someone else (the people that found her are passing her off as there dead daughter to comply with the kings order of marriage to "Hawk"). She  is forced to marry a man that she has never met. He is a womanizer and did not even make it to their wedding, he has his head guard marry her for him.   Adrienne has been burned in the pass by good looking men and wants nothing to do with them.  However after she is married and meets her husband she has to find away to get pass his looks if the marriages is going to work.  "Hawk" is not use to women saying No to him and Adrienne is the first.  Once he realizes he wants her he has to get her to open up and accept him.  There are other forces out there playing games with their relationship and they have to over come that as well (not to mention the time travel issue).  So if you like Highland, Scottish, Time travel and romance books this is a great book to read.

I just finished Dragon's Oath.  I have the rest of the HON books and need to get this one to add to the collection. It might have been a short book but it was great! I felt Dragon's loss all over again. I enjoyed getting to know more about some of the older Vamps in this series.  I hope for more :)

Nov 1

OK with Halloween and the kids I have been busy.  I have been working on Homework and getting costumes ready to wear.  My oldest Christopher was a Ninja, Tyler my middle son was an Unknown Phantom, and my youngest Lucas was a Bull Rider.  I did find time to get some reading done.  I read Kitty Takes a Holiday, Kitty and the Silver Bullet, and Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand all by Carrie Vaughn.

They are all great.  I love how she keeps the charters growing in each book.  I was very happy with Kitty's growth.  She is now an Alpha of the Denver pack. Yes they came back to Denver! Kitty now has a husband/ mate. I would never have guessed where she found him had I not read these books.  It was a nice surprise and I like him too! I wish I could start the next book but I need to take a short break.  I will get back to Kitty's story as soon as I can. :-)

Oct 25

See I told you I am not very good at this. ;-)

I have read a few books over the last few days.  They are Highlander's Sword by Amanda Forester, One Last Bite by Heidi Betts, Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn, and Kitty Goes to Washington by Carrie Vaughn.

Highlander's Sword was a good book. It started off a little slow for me but the more I read the more I wanted to know what was going to happen.  It also had many surprises.  I would think that one thing would happen when another thing did.  I was glad that I was kept guessing what would happen.

One Last Bite was a short story that made me want to read more.  I will be looking forward to reading Must Love Vampires!

Kitty and the Midnight Hour was a great book! I loved that is was set in Denver! I always like when I have been to or near where a book is set. (Denver is my home town).  I loved that Kitty found herself and grew as a person (wolf).  I was very sad about the loss of her friend TJ and her having to leave Denver and Colorado. :-(  I had to start the next book right away to make sure Kitty was OK.

Kitty Goes to Washington another great book! It started out in Albuquerque, NM and then moved to CA then to Washington D.C. I was miffed that she stayed with a vampire when she got to D.C. but like how it showed she is open to all supernaturals.  I thought it was funny how she does not see herself as a leader of any kind when so many call her for advise and the fact that the Senate called her as a witness to find out more about supernaturals.  I enjoyed the time she got to spend with other Were's. I am glad she is safe after all the close calls with her life.  Once again I can't wait to start the next book.

So I am off to do just that. :)

Oct 20

I just finished Awaken the Highland Warrior by Anita Clenney. WOW!!!  I had a very hard time putting down this book.  There was mystery, romance, and adventure.  It had it all.  There were times I really wanted to yell at some of the choices that Faelan made.  However in the end he followed his heart. :) Loved it!!! I can't wait to go get the next book!

Just finished Red's Hot Cowboy by Carolyn Brown.  I should have also read this book before Darn Good Cowboy Christmas. However I enjoyed the chemistry between Pearl and Wil. The fighting was a hoot.  The making up was great. Another great book by Carolyn Brown.

OK It seams I don't read as much on the weekends.  However I did read Love Drunk Cowboy by Carolyn Brown.  I should have read it before I read Darn Good Cowboy Christmas.  With that said I still loved it.  I really enjoyed the back and forth emotions from Austin and Rye.

Oct 12

So I just finished Darn Good Cowboy Christmas by Carolyn Brown.  I really liked it.  I enjoyed a nice and growing relationship between Liz and Raylen.  They didn't have to fight other people to have a relationship.  I also really enjoyed that other couples had relationships going on in the back ground of the book.

So let see my last book I read was Destiny of the Wolf by Terry Spear. It was great!  I had a very hard time putting it down.  I can't wait to start the next book in the series To Tempt the Wolf.

First Blog

Hello this is my first blog.  I will try to review books I have read as I read them.
