12/23/12

Here it is almost Christmas and the New Year and I am not getting any better at this.  My job is going good.  My knee is starting to get back to normal (it is just taking me longer then a normal person). My family is doing great and keeping me very busy.  I am still reading a lot and I wish I had more time to review the books I have read.  I am going to try to do better.  I would like to review at least one book a month next year.  I know I read more then that but I would like to share my love of reading and the books I read with others.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. :-)

8/14/12

So I started this blog before I was back to work.  When I went back to work I thought I can keep this up and work.  Then work got really busy and I was working up to 70 hours a week.  I was told I needed a new knee not too long ago. OMG! I am not that old but we had tried everything else and this was the last option.  I then thought OK I guess let's do it.  I might be able to catch up on my blog and my reading.

So here I am after they have replaced my knee and all I can do is PT, read and watch TV. Oh yeah I keep falling asleep in middle of things.

I have read a lot of books but have not had the time to write about them.  I will not go into all the books that I have read from my last post, but I will tell you the last book I read was One Night Rodeo by Lorelei James.

I loved it!!!!!  I love all her books and this is just as good as the last one.  If you have not read any of Lorelei James books you should.  This book is about two strong willed and hard headed people.  Kyle and Celia.  They have been dancing around their attraction to each other for a while now. I don't want to give anything away so I will say just read the book.

Feb 5, 2012

So I am not doing very well at the once a week blog.  However here I am now.  I have read a lot of books since my last blog. No I am not going to review all of them right now, but I am going to do one that I won and just finished. It is BaSatai : Outside In #1 by Suzan Battah. Here is the overview from Goodreads.

Seventeen year old, Armani Radnelaq a full blooded BaSatai is plagued by a curse in her blood. A curse created from hate and designed to break the divide between two parallel worlds of Earth and H-trae when Armani's blood is spilled in attack and she dies.

S'teuqoubs have been travelling back and forth across the divide for centuries without trouble. The BaSatai and Guardians monitoring activity and enforcing rules to ensure peace and harmony but if the divide splits and opens, a much greater number of supernatural S’teuqoubs will filter into earth destroying equilibrium which the BaSatai and Guardians will be unable to control. Humanity and the BaSatai will suffer and perish. The parallel divide must remain secure at all costs.

Armani has remained hidden on earth with her adopted father Elijah since her birth. She has been raised in the human way and fights her natural instinct to evolve into a BaSatai. The BaSatai in her requires her to evolve and shift, use her powers and strength. Yet Armani is freaked out by the need to shift. She smokes, has a bad attitude, must deal with aggressive bullies and control her natural BaSatai instinct. Her Guardian with BaSatai Warriors are coming for her. She refuses to accept her fate and doesn't believe any BaSatai should die to protect her.

The blood curse maturing in her veins makes her a target for her enemies. Her Guardian Karhl and an elite BasSatai Warrior Rafael are the first to arrive and prepare her for her crossing over. Her attraction to Rafael complicates her purpose to stay on earth even more. They both insist she fall into line and follow their lead but she is not ready to leave earth just yet...

Happy New Year!!!

With the new year I was not able to write anything this last weekend, and I will have to keep it short tonight.  However I just finished The Darkest Hour by Maya Banks.  It is the first book in the KGI series. I just had to tell you all what I thought of it. I won this book as a first read through GoodReads.  I have wanted to read it for a while.  I really had a hard time putting it down to sleep or work (I also have to take care of the kids).  I was feeling the emotions in the book like I knew them.  I kept pulling for them and hoping it would all work out OK.  See Ethan is an Ex-SEAL and was not happy with how is marriage was.  Rachel was his wife that went on a mission trip and died. (Or so Ethan thought).  When Ethan and his family find out that she is alive they need to rescue her help her remember her life.  By then Ethan has realized his mistakes and is hoping to fix them but with Rachel not remembering he may have a change to.  The question is when will she remember everything and will it end their relationship?  Also there is still why did someone make it look like she died but kept her alive.  When Ethan and his family rescue her they need to make sure she is safe because there are still people out to get her.  Can Ethan keep Rachel safe?  Can their relationship make it though all this?  You must read this book!

OK off to bed I must get up and go to work in 5 hours. :-)
