Fast Track by Julie Garwood

I love the independence that Cordelia has but when she learns the truth she questions everything about herself.  She must get it all back.  She has decided to move on with her life.  She is selling her home and moving to Boston and start over. When Aiden finally sees Cordieila as the beautiful woman she is and he wants her but also is afraid of wanting her.  The passions between then was hot as can be.  I could not put this book down.  The action and passion between them made a great read. Can friends grow to be more and if so can they make it thru the trials ahead of them?

Cordelia Kane has always been a daddy’s girl.  Her dad raised her after her mother died in a car crash. She may not be the most feminine woman but she loves her life. When her dad has a serious heart attack, Cordelia is devastated. It is on her dad’s death bed that he reviles her mom is alive.

Cordelia can’t suppress her curiosity about the woman who gave birth to her. She discovers that the woman on her birth certificate has a whole different name. In order to get the answers to her questions she must go to Sydney, Australia to get them.

Hotel magnate Aiden Madison is Cordelia’s best friend’s older brother.  Cordelia has had a crush on him for years. So when he agrees to take her along to Sydney on his company jet, he unknowingly puts her life at risk. He’s recently angered a powerful congressman by refusing to purchase overvalued land. Congressman Chambers is not a happy man and will use all the resources he can to get even and what he wants.

In Australia sparks fly between Cordelia and Aiden. Neither want to admit to them and keep their days as normal as possible. After Cordelia has a meeting with her mom all she wants is to go home.  So Aiden takes her home to Chicago.  Cordelia is determined to leave so that her heart can heal, but multiple attempts on her life have Aiden and her friends trying to put a stop the madness.  During this Aiden sees what is most important in his life and must act before he loses everything.

Her Unbridled Cowboy (Harland County #2) by Donna Michaels

Her Unbridled Cowboy (Harland County #2)  by Donna Michaels

Homeless, unemployed and Divorced Kerri Masters agrees to hear to her home town in Texas after a California earthquake. It must be her weakened state that has her eyeing the neighbor she used to follow around as a child.

Connor McCall’s notices his former neighbor when she steps on his ranch in her fancy clothes and shiny heels. Too bad she’s a city girl, because he has no use for them.

I loved how Kerri and Connor work through their troubles from their past.  They both want a right now and not a future. So when did it all change?  The way they both need to open up yet want to guard their hearts is something I can understand.  Neither wants to make the first move to build more when a misunderstanding can take the future away.  I would love to read more and see where they go.
