A Husband for Cordelia Brides of Golden City Book 2; by Cynthia Woolf

A Husband for Cordelia

Brides of Golden City Book 2; by Cynthia Woolf

This book is just as good as the last book in this series. Cynthia Woolf has done a great job here. I look forward to the next one.

Cordelia Jameson is a strong woman that needs to plan for her future. He brother has died, and she now has no where to live as she has been living with him. She has no other family so what will she do? She does have the $5000 her brother left her but that will not last forever. With nothing else in New York for her and she hopes to have a husband and children someday, she decides to become a mail-order bride and go west. Just before she leaves her brothers ex business partner finds her and threatens her as he wants the money her brother left her. When she says no, he hits her good and just might have killed her if not for one of the other brides showing up. She hopes this move will keep him away.

David Thomas is a widow now that his crazy wife is dead. She was hung for kidnapping and attempted murder. He moved west after all that and is starting new. He does have a daughter that needs mother that will care for her. He also would like more children, but he is not looking for love again. He doesn’t want to go through that pain ever again.

As soon as she arrives Cordelia and David are married but not before he sees has had been beaten. He askes about it and she tells him about the trouble from Richard (her bothers ex business partner).

Later when Cordelia, David and his daughter are in town they run into Richard. He still wants what he thinks is his. Richard gets the drop on Cordelia and almost kills her again. David is now protecting her and his daughter.

So, will Cordelia be able to stay alive with Richard in town?  Will David be able to keep her and his daughter safe? Will Cordelia be loved by David or will this all end badly?
