Adele Angel Creek Christmas Brides Book 18; by Cynthia Woolf

Adele

Angel Creek Christmas Brides Book 18; by Cynthia Woolf

I really did enjoy this book. Cynthia has a way of bringing the past to life. I also love how she merges people into families.

Adele Jensen is running from New York and a man she thought she loved but after 10 years knows she does not. She wants so much more in life, a husband, and children. So, she is on her way to Montana as a Mail Order Bride. She just needs to keep her past a secret, and hope no one comes looking for her.

Edward Warton is a single father because his wife ran off with another man and died before they got out of town. Now he is looking for a woman to be a mother for his seven year old daughter. He is only looking for someone to be there for her and ease his need but not his heart. He will never trust a woman again.

Richard Douglas cannot believe Adele ran from him. He gave her everything and as far as he is concerned, she belongs to him. Therefore, he will bring her back to New York. When he finds her and lets, he tells her she is going with him he does not like the answer No. So now if he cannot have her no one will.

Will Edward see he needs Adele as much as his daughter does? Will Adele be able to stay with Edward and his daughter? Will Richard take Adele back with him?  Will someone be killed in all the plotted moves? Remember there is more at stake here than just these people and their love.

Emma Rose Brides of the Oregon Trail 8; by Cynthia Woolf

 Emma Rose

Brides of the Oregon Trail 8; by Cynthia Woolf

When I started this book, I thought I had already read it, so I double checked and saw no I had not. Then I kept reading and soon found no I really had not read this book yet. The more I read the more I liked the story. This one grew on me, by the end I really did love it.

Meet Emma Rose Murphy. She has lost her Father, Brother, Fiancés, and then most recently her Mother, now a year after that she is going to move on and accept her Aunt and Uncle invitation to that the wagon train to Oregon with them. When the train leaves, she is sure of three things. 1. She will never fall in love again. 2. She will never trust a man with a gun. (she has lost too many loved ones to men with guns) 3. She will make it to Oregon. However, fate has another plan. See soon after they leave, she is attacked, and a Mr. Parker saves her. He is also the first man to stir any feelings from her in a long time.

Noah Parker wants a change in life. He was a Pinkerton agent, then a Deputy Marshal, but now he wants to be a Marshal or town Sheriff. So, he decides to move to Oregon. He joins the same wagon train that Emma Rose and her Aunt and Uncle have. He has no idea what is going to happen. First, he rescues Emma Rose from an attack and then finds her walking in the middle of then night by herself. When he brings her back her Uncle demands they marry as he will not have Emma Roses reputation ruined.

Now Noah and Emma Rose are married. She is not happy with his gun but in the long run it will be needed. There is a stocker after her and Noah will find and kill the man. Noah also needs to get Emma Rose to trust him if their marriage is going to be real and last.

Lanie Cupids and Cowboys 2; by Cynthia Woolf

Lanie

Cupids and Cowboys 2; by Cynthia Woolf

Cynthia Woolf did an awesome job with this story! I love how Lanie is careful about her future but willing to open her heart.

She takes us back to Colorado and to the Monroe’s ranch. Lanie is the daughter (ok adopted daughter) of Carter and Samantha (that story is in Carter). They love her so much and want to know her future is set. So, when a boy (man) that they helped raise calls for help they jump to do that. That man is Ben Carleton, and he needs someone to watch is son while he hunts down the murder of his late wife.

Ben is a U.S. Marshal now (but only because he is looking for the killer of is wife). Just before she was killed, he found out that she was not being faithful, then she was dead. The man he thought killed her was her lover. Ben has followed him to Golden, CO where he grew up. He asked for help from the people that raised him and he considers friends and they said yes. He thought that he would leave is son with them for a bit and finish his man hunt. What he got was that a new wife, and in-laws.

Lanie is very headstrong. She wants the ranch she has grown up on to be her future. What she does not plan for is a husband, especially after her ex-fiancé left her for a saloon girl. Then up rides her childhood crush Ben and she did not recognize him and sent him away. When she tells her father, he lets her know he was waiting for Ben and that when he comes back, he wants to see him. Now she is embarrassed at not knowing who he was, and not sure why he is here.

Ben comes back and this is where both find out Carters marriage plan. Now Ben will track down the killer, Lanie will watch her new son and they will together save the ranch for Lanie’s future, Right? Ok maybe it is harder than that. Life is all good and Love wins all? Guess you need to read and find out.

Hot SEAL, Confirmed Bachelor

SEALs in Paradise; by Cynthia D’Alba

Oh, I so loved this story. I also really did not want it to end.

Meet Master Chief Benjamin Blackwell. He thinks that he has the life he wants. He is hot, a SEAL, and in control of his life. He can smile at a woman and they will chase him to bed, or car, or bathroom, or wall…..what more could he want?

Meet Holly Maxwell. A widow, mother, teacher, and a daughter of a Coronado cop. She is happy with her life. Her family wants her to move on and remarry as it has been over 10 years since she lost her husband.

Holly comes up with a plan to keep her family from setting her up with anyone. Little did she know it is about to backfire on her. She tells them she is dating a man and describes Benjamin to them. Then as the girls are having a ladies night out they run into him. Now her family invites him to all the family events. She had asked him to play along but how long is this going to last?

Benjamin goes along with Holly as he has a lot on his mind this summer. He has some big decisions to make and does not want any distractions. Little does he know that he now has a big one. One that he just might want to keep.

Want You to Want Me(Want You #2) by Lorelei James

Want You to Want Me(Want You #2)

by Lorelei James

I had a hard time with the beginning of this story. If this were not a Lorelei James book I more than likely would have stopped. However, it was a Lorelei James book, so I pushed on. When I set this book down the second time, I was like what is wrong with me? I love these books. So, I thought on that and realized it is the feelings at the start of the book that I was having a problem with. See I love to read to escape the unhappy part of life, and the beginning of this story has some hate and dislike and that was my problem. Now that I have that out.

By the time I finished the story I was wanting more. I fell in love with Gabi and Nolan.

Meet Gabriella (most call her Gabi) Welk. She is a hockey player. Also meet Nolan Lund. He is the future CEO of Lund Industries. These two hated (or at least really disliked) each other on sight. It is almost like they cannot be in the same room. Then Nolan witness Gabi being dumped by her boyfriend and things start to change for him.

Gabi gets a job interview for her dream job and is in need of some big help. Everyone she would normally call is out of town, so she turns to Nolan (he knows how to dress). He agrees to help her. Now they are spending lots of time together and getting to know each other. The hate they had for one another turns into respect, then to like, and then do I dare say Love?

Now can what they have built with each other last the storm that is coming? Can a female hockey player and a next CEO of a billion-dollar company find common ground?

The Carson City Bride The Marshals Mail Order Brides Book 1, by Cynthia Woolf

The Carson City Bride

The Marshals Mail Order Brides Book 1, by Cynthia Woolf

Cynthia Woolf has another good book here. I enjoy the mail order bride stories as well as ones from history. This mail order bride story has a couple of twist that made me smile. I also felt for Rachel the bride as she has some hills to climb to get what she wants.

Rachel Mailand was married off at age 16. Her husband who was much older just died, and she found out he left her in major debt, so she had to sell everything to pay it off. Now she must decide what to do for her future as she is still young. She chooses to become a mail order bride. She packs up what she has left and heads west to Carson City. When she gets there the man, she was to marry has run off but there is another surprise for her if she wants it.

U.S. Marshal Joshua Egan just lost his wife and mother of his children to a stagecoach robbery. He wants justice for her murder and does not want to love again because of this.

Joshua meets Rachel and tells her about the man she was to marry, but he does not stop there he offers to marry her as he someone to take care of his young children. She agrees as she does not have many other options.

Now has they build a life together trouble comes calling. Can Joshua keep Rachel and his children safe? Can Rachel keep her new family safe? Will Joshua and Rachel love each other?
