Racked and Stacked by Lorelei James

I am going to say I had a tough time reading this book. It is because I really wanted to take both Ike and Riss and knock their heads together. Ike and Riss must be the most stubborn people Lorelei has written. After saying all this I really did enjoy the book, and I am ok I didn’t read it in all one day (I have less time between books now).
Larissa (Riss to all that know her) is a tomboy and is very vocal about her sex life. She is a one and done type girl (yes, I know this is not normal). She is the youngest in the family and the only girl (she has 3 brothers). Riss is tough as nails and can take care of herself! Until she gets hurt worst than ever and now has no choice but to accept help.
Ike is the oldest in his family and has 3 sisters. He thinks he knows how to handle (take care of) women. He is a former cattle broker and feels he knows where his life is going at least for right now.
When Ike finds out Riss has been hurt and needs to be cared for he jumps right in. He is only doing this because he feels no one else can. There is no way they could be more to each other than part time friends/ enemies. They are like oil and water and don’t mix.
Can they get pass their stubbornness for a chance to see where the attraction leads or will they explode and never talk again?

Mail Order Mix-Up

Mail Order Mix-Up

Brides of Seattle Book 3; by Cynthia Woolf

You can read this book in the series or by itself. I was a little worried about reading this book as I am not the biggest fan of the second book in this series. However, I did enjoy this book. I loved Josie and her concerns are so real I could feel them.

Josie is nothing like the other women in town. She wears pants, and boots. She hunts, fishes, and tracks. She can’t cook, clean house, or sew. Every man that has been in her life has left her at some point. So, with the lesson to only depend on herself she wants nothing to do with Gabe or Love.

Gabe is a Talbot. He has watched 2 of his brothers fall in love and marry. He has also watched them almost die from heartache, and he doesn’t want to Love a woman, but he is falling for Josie. Now he just needs to convince her to take a chance on him.

When Gabe finally gets her to go on a date with him they find 4 orphans. They know they need to help these kids, so they take them back to town.  When they all get there the oldest of the kids will not let the kids get split up for even one night. Gabe and Josie talk and decide to marry to keep the kids.

Now they are married with 4 kids, none are theirs. Will they make this marriage into a real marriage or is it just for the kids?  Will they be able to keep their hearts from being hurt or falling in Love?

Texas Marine Mayhem (Brotherhood Protectors)

Texas Marine Mayhem (Brotherhood Protectors)

Big Branch Texas 3; by Cynthia D’Alba

Ha! I loved this story! I don’t know if I could do what Vanessa does. At least the keep my ex safe part. Other parts I might be right on board with.

She is a retired Marine and is now a bodyguard. Her newest assignment is to protect an author/ professor. The issue is he is her Ex-Husband.

Craig is an author and professor.  He is trying to finish his latest book and can’t be bothered by a threat that someone wants him dead. His brother decided to help and hires a bodyguard, (yes he know it is Vanessa, Craig’s ex).

Vanessa shows up to guard her Ex and is going to do her best to get in and out without loosing her heart again. When Craig sees Vanessa, he tells himself he can’t have any distractions (and the fact he still loves her is a big one). He doesn’t believe he is in danger and decides to win her back. He also has a secret that he needs to tell her, but as bodies are found and shots are fired he might have to rethink what to do next.

So, will Vanessa keep Craig safe?  Can Craig win her love back? Or will they end up dead?

Mail Order Mystery by Cynthia Woolf

Mail Order Mystery
Brides of Seattle Book 1; by Cynthia Woolf
I am just starting to read books by Cynthia Wolf. I am ready to read more. I have enjoyed many mail order books in the past. I really enjoyed this one and it  has a neat twist to it.

The time is just after the civil war and the eastern states have a shortage of men to marry.  While the western territories are starting to grow and have a shortage of women to marry.

Jason and his brothers own a lumber company and are in the Seattle territory. They don’t want to lose the men that work for them and are willing to bring women to the town. They send word to their sister back east to help find them so when they get there they can load up and head home.  Their sister puts an ad out for mail order brides and organize a meeting time and place for the women and her brothers. Rachel is one of the woman singing up for this.  She is worried but sets her eye on Jason.

They leave to go to Seattle as it will be a long trip Rachel plans to get to know Jason better. As they get to know each other Jason starts to worry about getting to close to Rachel. He has already been married once and lost his wife in child birth. He is not sure he can love again.

When they get to Seattle the women find their jewelry has been stolen. Rachel takes on the task of finding the thief. As she gets closer to the truth Jason starts to worry about her safety and finds he will do anything to protect her.

Can Jason keep Rachel? Can Rachel win Jason’s heart?

When I Need You (Need You 4) Lorelei James

Oh My GOSH! Lorelei just keeps writing awesome books! I LOVED IT! This is a can’t miss book, (but that also means you need to read the first 3 books now.) I am one of those people that don't normally read a book start to finish (I have 3 boys I have to keep up with) but I read this on straight through (my kids had to wait).

Everyone has their rules for life. Jensen “The Rocket” Lund is no exception, He has three big ones when it comes to dating:
1) No single mothers
2) No cheerleaders
3) No medical personnel
He is one of the hottest football players right now and is also an heir for Lund Industries. These rules have worked good up until now.

Rowan Michaels also has rules for dating or should I say one rule (A BIG ONE):

1) No Football Players
She has worked hard to get to where she is. Her life is being an athletic trainer, Vikings cheerleader, and a Mom. She has already “landed” a pro athlete (she thought he loved her). Her young son is proof that football players and fidelity don’t go hand in hand. When Rowan takes over her brother’s apartment while he is out of town she learns her new neighbor is Jensen Lund. She knows who he is but he doesn’t know her.

The more Jensen gets to know Rowan the more he is thinking about throwing out is rules. Now he just needs to convince Rowan to do the same. She is going to hold tight to the team’s strict “no fraternization” policy. She doesn’t want to get her or her son hurt because of Jensen.

A Charmed Little Lie (Charmed in Texas #1) by Sharla Lovelace

Lanie Barrett lied to her dying Aunt. She spins a story of a happy marriage for her Aunt Ruby, especially since her beloved Aunt would be heartbroken to know the truth. Trouble is that now she and her husband need to move home for her to keep it, at least according to the will. Did I tell you that they have to live there 3 months or the house and land go to weasel cousin, who will sell it to a condo developer.

Nick McKane is fired right in front of Lanie. She might be in luck as he is the spitting image of the man Lanie described. She offers him a job as a “Husband”. He needs money for his daughter's art school tuition. This should work like a charm… well, maybe not.
Now the more time they spend together the more a connection is starting to feel real. Could they find a happy out come to this or will they go up in flames when the truth comes out?
